From Nonwovens to Viledon®
Since the pathbreaking discovery of nonwoven material back in 1936 by the chemist Carl Nottebohm, Freudenberg has determinedly progressed development work on this highly versatile material, and opened up new markets for it all over the world. The real breakthrough came in 1950 with the creation of special nonwovens for demanding technical applications, which were distributed under the brand name Viledon. It was Viledon which laid the foundation for diversified use of nonwovens in a multi-faceted range of technical applications. In fact, nowadays there's hardly a single branch of industry where Viledon products aren't used.
