The German Society of Management Certification (DQS Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen mbH) several years ago certified the Filter Division for conformity with DIN EN ISO 9001, and its Automotive Filter Subdivision for conformity with QS 9000, which reflects the extremely stringent requirements of the automotive industry. The Filter Division currently operates a holistic quality management system based on QS 9000. Above and beyond this, we have achieved certification to DIN EN ISO 14001 "Environmental Management System" for our Weinheim facility, to confirm that ecological aspects and requirements, together with occupational safety, are being proactively prioritised under an integrated management system.

On the basis of our quality philosophy, we are one of the first manufacturers on the market to have also met the criteria of EUROVENT certification for air filters of Classes F 5 to F 9. This means that neutral test institutes regularly monitor compliance with the crucial performance data of our fine-filters. You will find detailed information on EUROVENT certification at www.eurovent-certification.com .

We have set ourselves the goal of being Number One in our chosen sector, and are well aware that to achieve this objective it is crucial to ensure the satisfaction of our customers, our staff, our partners and our suppliers. By continuously implementing our Quality Principles, all staff, departments, functions and the management work together as a single unit to ensure excellence of achievement in terms of quality, pricing, service and reliability.

Our quality management system covers all the operations involved, from the first stage of development up to delivery of the products, from application engineering consultancy all the way through to aftersales service. Particular priority is given to preventative quality assurance of the products and services involved.

Viledon air filters are designed and developed using state-of-the-art test rig technology in Freudenberg's metrological laboratory. Besides the standard tests to DIN, each filter is also subjected to substantially tougher testing against special criteria defined in-house. These special tests expose the filters to atmospheric and ultra-fine synthetic dusts under varying temperature and humidity conditions and a whole lot more. To supplement these lab tests, filter performance is also verified in field tests before development work is actually concluded.

And of course, also our production processes are subjected to continual quality monitoring, all the way from the filter medium to the finished filter element.

As part of the Freudenberg Group, the world's largest nonwovens manufacturer, we have all currently known filter media production technologies available in-house. We purchase top-quality raw materials and manufacture all our nonwoven filter media ourselves. These media are then converted into filter elements, using innovative and, in some cases, patented technologies. Thanks to this in-house concentration of development and manufacturing capabilities, the very latest state of the art can be incorporated in product optimisation.
